The Archive
About This Site
An unofficial, fan-written guide to four records and a finished run — built to be useful now and useful later.
Sons and Daughters made four albums across roughly a decade, then stopped. This archive is a set of close readings of those records, the songs and the components of the sound. It is written by fans, for fans.
What This Is Not
This is an unofficial archive. It has no connection to the band, its former members, their management or any label. Nothing here should be read as representing the band's own views or intentions. No one involved in making the music has endorsed, contributed to or approved anything on these pages.
There are no fabricated quotations anywhere in the guide, and no photographs of the band, its members or any likeness of them. Where the writing makes claims about the music, those claims rest on listening and on the public record.
How to Use It
- The Records — the four albums in release order, one piece each, plus the material outside them.
- The Songs — the tracks that carry the catalogue, read closely.
- The Sound — two voices, the guitars, the rhythm section.
- Origins & Glasgow — where it came from and how the run went.
- The Archive — how these notes are written.
The archive is evergreen by design. There are no news items, no tour dates and no publish timestamps. The music is finished and the records are not going anywhere.
